According to the ETS official guidelines, the writing section will test you on grammar & mechanics, and your ability to help students write.

  • Grammar & mechanics: Subject-verb agreement, pronouns, punctuation, capitalization.
  • Word choice & usage: Correct spelling, homophones (their/there/they’re), and vocabulary.
